Correct us if we're wrong, but we've noticed that by the time summer is winding down, y'all are well and truly done. Done with the snack negotiations and the screen time debates and the chaos that descends when school-aged or even college-aged children have nowhere to be for 10 straight weeks — and if you live in the Gulf South — in the most relentlessly hot climate in North America.
Then, one afternoon you drop them off at the dorm or in the morning, the bus comes, the door closes and the house goes blissfully quiet in a way it hasn't since May.

Flowers, a new piece of artwork, a gorgeous new outfit, a special edition of your favorite book, a new piece of jewelry — something chosen for no one else but yourself.
Yes, back to school is a fresh start for them. But it's also, if you claim it, a fresh start for you. You made it through another summer, y'all. That alone is worthy of a toast — and maybe something that sparkles. Whatever you choose, make sure it's for you — and only you!
