In the News: 5 Pieces inspired by Golden Hour

There are few things more delightful than opening a magazine and finding your work in excellent company. The August 2026 issue of St. Charles Avenue magazine features Maison Mariann's "I'm Your Venus" rutilated quartz ring in a stunning fashion spread called "Golden Hour," styled and written by the talented Amy Gabriel. (Melanie here with a disclosure: I'm a regular contributor to St. Charles Avenue, and Amy is a friend and colleague whose writing and eye for styling I have long admired.)

The spread is exactly what its name promises. The always fabulous Amy has assembled a golden moment of pieces that feel warm, confident and glammy. It made us want to rearrange our wardrobes and book a reservation somewhere fabulous!

The Star of the Show (Well, One of Them)

The "I'm Your Venus" ring — our rutilated quartz cocktail ring set in 14K yellow gold — anchors the spread. Rutilated quartz is one of those stones that warrants a closer inspection. Its golden rutile inclusions catch the light differently every time, making each ring one of a kind. It's a statement piece that somehow manages to feel at once bold and organic.

The Rest of the Edit

Amy surrounded Venus with some equally worthy companions. The Daniela dress from Reformation — silk charmeuse, halter neckline, flowing skirt  — she's Bianca Jagger sauntering into Studio 54 in the latest Halston, no? The Tory Burch mini Eleanor double-wrap watch in gold-tone stainless steel brings a sleek, architectural element that grounds the look. Tijon's Après Vous fragrance, with its 23-carat gold leaf and notes of cardamom, ylang ylang and cedar, adds an olfactory layer to the golden theme. And the Ella Bartlow "If Looks Could Kill" necklace — a dramatic 16.5-inch collar of Swarovski crystals and elongated golden spikes — evokes a "don't mess with me vibe" to balance the feminine curves of the Daniela dress.

How We'd Complete the Look

That Ella Bartlow necklace would work best with earrings that complement without competing — and our Elizabeth Diamond Stud Earrings in 14K yellow gold do exactly that. The bezel-set lab-grown diamonds are clean, confident and brilliant enough to hold their own alongside the collar's drama without fighting it for attention.

For the hands, we'd stack the "I'm Your Venus" ring with a slim Anvil Stacking Ring or two — keeping the metals warm and the silhouette minimal so the quartz remains the focal point.

With this fabulous spread, it's easy to see why creative types favor the golden hour.
